2013 Roussanne released

The 2014 Beechworth Vignerons Spring tasting saw the offical release of our 2013 “The Rest” Roussanne.

Its well known within the wine world that Warner Vineyard boasts one of the very best roussanne sites in Beechworth and for many years we supplied Giaconda with fruit for their Aeolia label. When Giaconda decided to cease production of that label it meant that roussanne fruit became available for other wine makers and new labels.

Gary Mills from Jamsheed uses some of the fruit to produce his Beechworth Roussanne, and Warner Vineyard is also using Gary to make the wine for our “The Rest” series of wines.

We we have VERY limited quantities of this wine – only about 70 cases produced in total – for 2013 and we will be offering it on a first in best dressed basis. So if you want some get in quickly.

Why “The Rest

Built upon granite foundations, The Rest Hotel, was once close to the site of Warner  Vineyard.  These same granite foundations provide the soils for the Warner Vineyard, with over 300T of rock moved during vineyard construction in the mid 1990s.

So what makes it special?

Warner Vineyard has built its reputation on low yielding, hand-picked fruit allowing us to control quality.  “The Rest” takes this fruit, and in combination with French oak and premium wine making techniques, delivers a wine reflecting devotion to the quest of a premium product.
